  14. 'First, there was Exact. And now, Red Sector presents... A TCC design...
  15.  Megademo!'. These words introduced us all to the best megademo ever
  16. released - Red Sector's. It was a rare occurence back in those days when
  17. everything worked as good together as it did in this demo - design was, if
  18. not named as such, born. The demo featured great graphics and music, and
  19. more new and original routines than anyone had seen for a very long while.

  21. hardware - In june at the World of Commodore show in London, Commodore
  22. announce that the 1 millionth Amiga has been sold. Motorola launches the
  23. 68040 processor. Deluxe Paint III was released.

  100. PCS89 exposition was held at Earl's Court in London, England. There were
  101. actually two scene events arranged in conjunction with the show, the first
  102. one arranged at Hawk/Red Sector's house! There was a lot of new releases,
  103. and many elite sceners were present. Hawk got pissed off because a lot of
  104. people had shown up without an invitation, so he pulled the plug on the
  105. power at 01.00 and annnounced that the party was over. The second day
  106. another party was arranged by Cyrus Corp.

  152. and possibly supply any results? We also want to know which of The Silents'
  153. demos was the one that finished 2nd. The only thing we know, really, is that
  154. it was a three-part demo...

  184. the original deadline at midnight saturday, it was moved to 9 in the
  185. morning on sunday. The winners were decided by a jury.

  227. This easter party was held in Arendal, Norway for the amiga scene only! The
  228. No Limits and IMP-666 party the following year was held at the same school
  229. as this. Big international groups were expected, but ultimately only
  230. Norwegians and Swedes showed up - still there were more than 50 releases at
  231. this party! It appears that I was originally wrong in thinking this party
  232. was held 18-21.03. Thanks to Zeg for correcting me! We'd be eternally
  233. grateful for any competition results from this party.

  257. Held at Slagelse Gymnasium in Slagelse, Denmark, mostly for the c64 scene,
  258. but also open for amiga and atari st. Food, drinks and disks were to be sold
  259. at the party place. The party resulted in a big general dislike for
  260. Excell/Ikari - see the report in Amok's "Sex'n'Crime #2" [04/89]. He
  261. disqualified demos from swedish groups Horizon, Oneway and Triad, and
  262. replaced the originally intended jury - 10 guys from 10 groups - with a 2-
  263. man jury with one member from Ikari and one from Channel 42. Well, the demo
  264. competition results speak for themselves, don't they...? There were also
  265. complaints about the small room and some powercuts that were experienced
  266. during the party.

  446. IBB too. 39 productions were handed in for the competition. I have some
  447. information that the date may have been 07-09.07...but don't trust this! I

  504. The computer press, represented by Digital (norway), Oberoende Computer
  505. (sweden) and DatorMagazin (sweden) were present, as well as some of the big
  506. Swedish newspapers, like Sydsvenska Dagbladet abd Kvällsposten.
  507. There were no usual demo competition; instead, there were competitions for
  508. music, gfx and best utility program. Theis was not intended as a copy party
  509. as such, but more as a means for people to be able to show some of their
  510. work to some of the professional companies that were invited. Obviously,
  511. there was a total ban on illegal copying. 12 contributions for music, three
  512. pictures and two utilities were submitted. Three tunes were chosen by the
  513. arrangers, and then played up for the audience, who voted.

  666. The BS1 party was arranged in Nestelrode, Holland by Switch/Bamiga Sector 1.
  667. There were two problems at this party; one thing was that the fuses seemed
  668. to be blowing constantly, and the other was that it was raided by the
  669. police! In a joint venture with Dutch and French police (working with
  670. software house Titus) they raided the party with six police cars, and 100's
  671. of disks were confiscated. Many destroyed their disks, there was total
  672. panic. In the end, everybody had to be registered by the police before
  673. leaving, and disks, hardware and adress books were confiscated.

  713. The party started at 11 and went on to 9 o'clock, meaning this was a one-day
  714. party. About Half past 11, two policemen showed up to inform the attendants
  715. that the German police was aware that software was being illegally copied at
  716. this event, but that they were not going to act on this for now. The party
  717. went on peacefully after the police had left. There was a demonstration (the
  718. first ever?) of an amiga cartridge called Pro Access.
